How to Tie Dye Shirt Designs : Basic Spiral Patterns for Tie Dye Shirts

Dye Tie

How do you tie dye a shirt orange and black?

Calling upon tie dying experts: If I wanted to tie dye a shirt orange and black, could I start with an orange shirt and dye it black? Or should I go with a white shirt and then dye it orange and black? Also, is there any kind of tie dye kit that I could pick up at a store that would have orange and black? Or would I have to get individual fabric dyes? I need to dye shirts by friday, any help/suggestions appreciated.

It depends on how many shirts you are dying. If its only one or two then the kits would work. (you can find them pretty much anywhere like walmart or hobby lobby) if you are doing like 4 or 5 or more shirts then your best bet would be to buy the stuff individually since the kits don't include enough of one or two colors to make that many. The rit dyes work great and buying it separate would actually save you money if you are doing a lot of shirts.
If you try to put black dye on orange shirts then unless you do it perfect there's a really good chance the shirts will be splotchy.
